Job Description
Central Bedfordshire Council is recruiting experienced Social Workers for its Family Help Team, based at Monks Walk, Chicksands, Shefford (SG17 5TQ) on a hybrid contract. The rate is £29.28–£39.00 per hour, 37 hours per week, starting 29 June 2026.

You will manage a varied caseload covering child in need, child protection, and court work, applying a range of social work theories and models to deliver imaginative, ambitious interventions. You will chair multi-agency meetings, liaise with professionals across agencies, complete direct work with children to understand their views and lived experiences, and produce high-quality assessments and reports.
Candidates must have at least five years’ post-qualifying experience, court experience (essential), strong verbal and written communication skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality services to vulnerable children and families.
Note: References must be uploaded to Matrix for review before interview will be offered.
