Job Description

Barnet Council is seeking an experienced Adults Social Worker to join its fast-paced Front Door Team, based in Colindale, NW9. This is a short-term intervention role operating at the front door of adult social care, offering a daily rate of £177.52–£245.07, with a start date of 23 June 2026.

You will undertake Care Act assessments and reviews, mental capacity assessments, risk assessments, and care and support planning for adults living in the London Borough of Barnet. The role requires flexibility to carry out home visits at short notice across the borough, so community-based working is a core part of the position.

You will deliver a high standard of social work in accordance with the Council’s duties and powers under relevant legislation, divisional and area policy, procedures, guidelines, and the Code of Practice for Social Care Workers.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England, with demonstrable experience in adults’ front-line or duty and assessment settings. Experience of Care Act and mental capacity frameworks is essential.
