Job Description
Herefordshire Community Wellbeing is seeking a qualified Approved Mental Health Professional to join its experienced and supportive AMHP team in Hereford (HR4 0LE), paying £24.63–£33.33 per hour, starting 29 June 2026.
This is a 9–5 post with no requirement to work out of hours, though there is an opportunity to join a well-paid out-of-hours rota if desired. The team is small, friendly and highly collaborative, with no one carrying difficult decisions alone. You will work alongside skilled colleagues undertaking Mental Health Act assessments across a range of client groups, with strong peer support, regular supervision, protected development time, and a genuine commitment to staff wellbeing. Home working is available on days triaging referrals. A lone-working device is provided.
The service invests in continuous professional development and specialist training, with opportunities to develop leadership within the team.
To be considered you must hold a current AMHP qualification and Social Work England registration, with at least one year of post-qualification AMHP practice. Strong knowledge of the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, Care Act and Safeguarding is essential.
