Job Description

We are recruiting an Adults Social Worker for Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council, based at 193 Old Street, Ashton-under-Lyne. This is a full-time role of 36 hours per week, running from 7 July to 28 August 2026, paying £20.58–£35 per hour.

The postholder will join the Neighbourhood Team, carrying a varied caseload that includes Court Work, Section 21a challenges, Care Act Assessments, Reviews, Duty support, and Safeguarding. Candidates must be comfortable working fully office-based for the initial six weeks; hybrid working can be considered thereafter.

Requirements include a recognised social work qualification, Social Work England registration, and three years of checkable references. Gaps in employment history will be verified.
