Job Description
Blackburn with Darwen Council is seeking two experienced Personal Advisers to join its Leaving Care team on a temporary basis (June–July 2026), supporting care-experienced young people aged 16–25 as they transition into independent adulthood.
Working from 10 Duke Street, Blackburn, you will build trusting relationships with young people and provide practical and emotional support to help them achieve positive outcomes across accommodation, education, employment, health, and wellbeing.
Key responsibilities include developing and reviewing Pathway Plans, supporting young people to develop independence skills, working in partnership with social care, housing, education, and external agencies, advocating for young people, and managing a varied caseload.
Ideal candidates will have experience working with vulnerable young people, strong communication and relationship-building skills, resilience, and a solution-focused approach. The ability to work both independently and as part of a team is essential.
Rate: £18–£20 per hour (PAYE) / £22.89–£25.44 per hour (umbrella). Start date: 1 June 2026. End date: 31 July 2026.
