Job Description

Lincolnshire County Council is seeking an experienced Lead Child Protection Practitioner (LCPP) to join its Quality and Standards team within Children’s Services, based countywide across locality offices including South Holland (PE11). This is a day-rate interim role paying £264.00–£359.57 per day, starting 1 June 2026.

This is a senior, specialist role focused on improving consistency in child protection practice across Lincolnshire. You will chair Child Protection Conferences, Strategy Meetings, and Supervision Order Reviews, lead multi-agency decision making, and ensure that children and families experience a transparent, child-centred process. Key responsibilities include leading Section 47 investigations, engaging children and young people aged 8 and over prior to conferences, quality-assuring CP plans, conducting audits and dip-sampling, and providing reflective case consultations to social workers and practice supervisors.

You will also carry out LADO functions, chair Children in Care Reviews, oversee Regulation 44 inspection activity, and contribute to LSCP quality assurance and thematic learning. You will be co-located with Duty Teams and MACPT colleagues, building professional relationships across the county.

Essential requirements: qualified social worker registered with Social Work England, with at least five years of post-qualification experience in children and families work, including child protection and looked-after children. You must have demonstrated ability to chair complex, emotionally charged multi-agency meetings and to provide expert professional advice.
