Job Description

Are you an experienced, qualified Social Worker looking for a rewarding role in a settled and supportive team? Lincolnshire County Council’s Family Help Team in North Kesteven is seeking a full-time Advanced Practitioner to deliver high-quality, impactful social work across a large rural area.

Based at North Hykeham Technology Park (Lincoln), the role involves assessment, planning, and direct support for children and families across the full spectrum of statutory work — including Children in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP), and Children in Care. Public and private law proceedings form part of the caseload, so experience of court work is essential.

The team operates a duty rota system, taking referrals from the front door one week in four. Hybrid working is supported, with a minimum of two days on site per week rising to five days during duty weeks. Travel across the wider North Kesteven district is required given the rural geography of the patch.

This is a genuinely stable and cohesive team with strong peer support — an excellent environment for a confident practitioner ready to work at an advanced level.

The role is offered on a locum basis at £29.51–£40.00 per hour, starting 1 June 2026. Candidates must hold a recognised Social Work qualification and be registered with Social Work England.
