Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified and experienced Senior Social Worker to join a Front Door team on a remote, flexible basis. This is a locum position paying between £29.22 and £38.28 per hour, available from 26 May 2026.

The Front Door service acts as the first point of contact for safeguarding referrals and assessments, playing a critical role in identifying risk and need for children and families. As a Senior Social Worker, you will bring sound judgement and confidence in high-volume, fast-paced duty and assessment work, supporting colleagues and contributing to a consistent, high-quality response.

Whilst a full job description is awaited, candidates will be expected to hold a recognised Social Work qualification, be registered with Social Work England, and demonstrate recent, relevant experience in a children’s front door, MASH, or duty and assessment setting. Strong communication skills, the ability to work autonomously in a remote environment, and up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding legislation and child protection procedures are essential.
