Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Residential Support Worker to join Hartlepool Borough Council’s Children’s Residential Service. This is a rewarding role where you will make a genuine difference to the lives of children and young people living in a residential care setting.

Working within a supportive team environment, you will provide day-to-day care, guidance, and emotional support to looked-after children and young people, helping them to feel safe, valued, and able to thrive. You will support residents with daily living activities, promote positive behaviour, and contribute to the implementation of individual care plans.

Key responsibilities include providing direct care and support to children and young people in a residential setting, building positive and trusting relationships, supporting young people’s educational, social, and emotional development, and maintaining accurate records in line with safeguarding requirements.

Candidates will ideally hold or be working towards an NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People) or equivalent, and will have experience of working with children and young people in a residential or similar care environment. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people is essential.

The role is based in Hartlepool and is offered at a rate of £20.95 per hour. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a committed team within a local authority children’s residential service.
