Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Adult Safeguarding Social Worker to join the Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) Team at Conwy County Borough Council, based at Coed Pella, Colwyn Bay. This is a pivotal role at the heart of adult protection, working within a multi-agency framework to safeguard vulnerable adults and families across the county.
You will manage the receipt and triage of referrals, making timely decisions within statutory timeframes, and oversee the full adult safeguarding process from initial enquiry through to completion. Working in close partnership with Section Managers, colleagues, and external agencies, you will ensure that practice aligns with the All Wales Safeguarding Procedures and the Social Services and Wellbeing (Wales) Act 2016. The role also carries a mentoring function, providing informal supervision and joint working with less experienced practitioners.
Key responsibilities include conducting complex casework, chairing multi-disciplinary meetings, auditing case files under the Quality Assurance Framework, and contributing to performance data and service improvement. You will champion person-centred, outcomes-based approaches and work sensitively with citizens, carers, and families to promote resilience and independence.
Candidates must hold a recognised social work qualification and be registered with Social Care Wales. The Level 3 post (G08) requires a minimum of three years’ post-qualification experience with adults, experience of adult safeguarding procedures, and the ability to mentor NQSWs. Post-qualification learning such as AMHP or BIA status is desirable. A current driving licence is required. Welsh language skills are desirable.
This is a 37-hour post offering £30.50–£39.95 per hour depending on experience, available from 11 May 2026. To find out more or to be considered, please apply now.
