*Children’s Social Worker – 0 to Infants Team – #000AF2E31

April 22, 2026
£39 - £39 / hour

Job Description

Are you a passionate, dedicated Children’s Social Worker ready to make a real difference to the lives of Blackpool’s youngest and most vulnerable children? This is an exciting opportunity to join the 0 to Infants Team based at Talbot Gateway in the heart of Blackpool, working within a forward-thinking service that puts families firmly at the centre of everything it does.

Blackpool Children’s Services operates a strengths-based, relationship-led model — working *with* families rather than *to* them, maintaining a child-focused approach whilst supporting the whole family unit. The service is committed to early intervention, consistency, and managing formal interventions at the lowest possible level.

Key responsibilities include undertaking pre-birth assessments, child protection work, complex child in need cases, and PLO/pre-proceedings work. You will produce high-quality court statements and assessments, and play a vital role in mentoring and coaching less experienced colleagues, acting as a professional role model through reflection, learning opportunities, and quality practice.

The office benefits from excellent transport links via the M55/M6 motorway corridor, direct rail access at Blackpool North station, and secure modern parking directly opposite the town centre offices.

Applicants must hold a recognised Social Work qualification, be registered with Social Work England, and be able to provide five years of references with employment-history gaps accounted for. Relevant qualifications will be verified in line with the job description and person specification.

The role is offered at £39 per hour. If you are enthusiastic, committed to improving children’s lived experiences, and ready for a rewarding challenge, we want to hear from you. Apply today.
